Free One-Day Workshops in Morrisville, Rutland, and Bennington

NAMI Vermont is pleased to partner with the Mental Health Designated Agencies in Morrisville, Rutland, and Bennington to offer our free one-day workshop “Mental Illness and Recovery” on May 31st in Morrisville and June 7th in Rutland and Bennington from 9:00-4:00 p.m. The workshop is ideal for anyone who wants to learn more about mental illness and recovery.

Participants will learn basic information about major mental illnesses including schizophrenia, bipolar disorder, major depression, panic disorder, post traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder.

The curriculum will also provide an overview of effective treatments for mental illness, accessing services throughout the state, evidence based practices available in Vermont, coping strategies and crisis prevention, recovery and next steps for making progress.

“NAMI Vermont is committed to educating the public about the needs of the one in four Vermonters affected by mental illness through our new workshop. Participants leave with a wealth of new information and resources. Many of the participants move on to join one of our support groups that we have available for both family members and individuals who are struggling with a mental health condition,” said Laurie Emerson, Program Director of NAMI Vermont.

The workshops will be held:

  • May 31st in Morrisville at Lamoille County Mental Health Services, 72 Harrel Street
  • June 7th in Rutland at Rutland Mental Health Services, Wellness Center, 78 S. Main Street
  • June 7th in Bennington on June 7th at United Counseling Services, 316 Dewey Street
