Join us for
Mental Health Advocacy Day

January 30, 2019
8:00 am – 2 pm
at the State House in Montpelier, VT

NAMI Vermont, Vermont Care Partners and the Vermont Association for Mental Health and Addiction Recovery have co-organized this annual event where we gather to call on Vermont leaders and legislators to protect and strengthen our state’s mental health care system.

The agenda this year includes a welcome address from state leaders, an advocacy training, and the opportunity to interact with legislators and share recovery stories.

Share Your Story
If you have a story to share, we invite you to join us for Mental Health Advocacy Day. There will be a time between 11 am and noon for people to share their stories or poems. Each story or poem should be no more than 5 minutes. To sign up online, click here. You can also email Laurie at lemerson@namivt.org if you are interested. We’ll send you a reminder email one week prior to Advocacy Day to confirm your participation.

Be a Co-Sponsor
This event is co-sponsored by many organizations and other stakeholders around the state of Vermont. If you are interested in co-sponsoring this event, please email Laurie at lemerson@namivt.org.

Take an Advocacy Training
NAMI Smarts Advocacy Training is a hands-on advocacy training program that helps people living with mental illness, friends and family members transform their passion and lived experience into skillful grassroots advocacy. This unique step-by-step, skill-building design of NAMI Smarts is effective with a wide range of participants, including those who are new to advocacy as well as individuals with years of experience. We will hold an Advocacy Training on Saturday, January 5, from 9 am to 4 pm in Williston to prepare for Mental Health Advocacy Day. It is FREE to attend, but registration is required. If you are interested in attending the training, register today! Visit our NAMI Smarts Training webpage for more information and a link to the registration form.
