May is Mental Health Awareness Month

During May, NAMI Vermont joins the national movement to raise awareness about mental heal. Each year, we fight stigma, provide support, educate the public, and advocate for policies that support people with mental illness and their families.

Mental health is an incredibly important part of overall health. Throughout this pandemic, we have faced isolation, turmoil and unrest, and a growing number of Americans experienced mental health symptoms. We’ve learned through this experience that we all struggle during challenging times and need support and access to care so we can thrive.

Taking on the challenges of mental health conditions, health coverage, and erasing the stigma around mental illness requires all of us. We are strongest when we join Together for Mental Health to advocate for resources, support and access to quality care.

May is a good time to check out all that NAMI Vermont has to offer, including our annual Pathways to Wellness Conference (read below). Check out our program and support pages or like our Facebook page at facebook.com/NAMIVT to learn about the latest happenings, read timely articles and find inspirational messages.
