Mental Health Advocacy Day

“Now is the Time for Hope & Recovery”
JANUARY 31, 2022 (Virtual)

We want to thank everyone for joining Mental Health Advocacy Day. We are very grateful to the 48 co-sponsoring organizations that helped promote the event. Over 310 people attended the virtual event. We were very excited to hear welcoming remarks from Governor Phil Scott, Representative Peter Welch, Lt. Governor Molly Gray, Secretary of Human Services Jenney Samuelson, Commissioner of the Department of Mental Health Emily Hawes, Speaker of the House Jill Krowinski, Representative Bill Lippert, Senator Ginny Lyons, and Senator Jane Kitchel.

Senate President Pro Tem Becca Balint provided our keynote presentation. She connected with the audience through her own lived experiences, sharing an authentic, inspiring, and powerful message.

The Sharing Stories session included experiences from many individuals who shared their message of hope and their journey to recovery. We are inspired by everyone’s resilience and strength.

Your story and your advocacy can make a difference!       — Laurie, Julie, and Daniel
