Join NAMI Vermont and other co-sponsors at the State House for Vermont Suicide Prevention Day as we advocate for “SUICIDE PREVENTION ACROSS THE LIFESPAN”.
On February 13th from 8:30 a.m. -2:00 p.m., an important all-day event at the State House in Montpelier brings together an integrated coalition of public health partners to raise awareness and generate support for a set of Recommendations put forth by the AHS Suicide Prevention Work Group to Governor Phil Scott for suicide prevention. The Recommendations focus on Zero Suicide in healthcare, support for the Lifelines Call Response line in VT, elder and veteran care, and mobile support efforts for at-risk individuals throughout the state. The Vermont Suicide Prevention Center (VTSPC) is a public-private partnership advised by a statewide coalition that consists of representatives from public health, education, state agencies, suicide prevention advocacy groups, youth leadership, mental health services and survivors throughout the state. VTSPC provides gatekeeper trainings; public awareness and interactive campaigns; and programs shown to reduce stigmas and improve connection points for issues associated with mental health.
