Important Message to Our Community Regarding the Coronavirus and Impact on Our Programming
The health and well being of our NAMI Vermont community is extremely important to us. With the daily news regarding the spread of the Coronavirus (COVID-19), we wanted to take a moment to update our family and friends about the measures NAMI Vermont is taking to ensure that we follow best practices to ensure the health and safety of everyone, while continuing to provide a level of support for our mental health community.
We are monitoring daily updates from CDC and Vermont Department of Health and reviewing all of our current programs, support groups, and events. We will make necessary changes as needed and will provide alternative methods of delivering our programming.
We will continue to keep our NAMI Vermont community updated as changes occur. Please check our website, our NAMI Vermont calendar and social media for the latest information. Programs and Support Groups may have changed their regularly-scheduled times and/or dates.
In the meantime, we recommend you follow precautions to help prevent the spread of this and other viruses:
- Frequent handwashing with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer. (Don’t forget thumbs and in between your fingers.)
- Avoid touching your eyes, nose and mouth with unwashed hands.
- Avoid close contact with people who are sick.
- Cover your cough or sneeze with your sleeve or a tissue. Throw the tissue in the trash.
- Clean and disinfect frequently touched objects and surfaces.
- Stay home when you are sick or have symptoms.
