Together for Dignity, United for Change: Reclaiming Mental Health in Vermont

Thursday, January 29, 2026 – 8:00 a.m.-3:00 p.m.
In-person at the State House and Vermont Supreme Courthouse Auditorium

Every year, advocates join together to raise their voices in support of mental health. This year is no exception. Please join us for the 11th Annual Mental Health Advocacy Day in person on Thursday, January 29, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. We will be at the State House to call on Vermont leaders and legislators to support the mental health of Vermonters.

Registration

Registration for Mental Health Advocacy Day is now open! Please let us know if you will be attending in person at the State House and Vermont Supreme Courthouse Auditorium, or if you would prefer to receive a link to watch the livestream when it becomes available.

Mental health advocates, peers, family members, professionals, providers, community members, and mental health stakeholders.

  • 9:00-9:15 am — Welcome and Introductions (VSC Auditorium)
  • 9:15-9:45 am — State Leader Welcome (VSC Auditorium)
  • 9:45-10:30 am – Keynote Speakers Representative Daisy Berbeco (Winooski) and Mike Pieciak, Vermont State Treasurer (VSC Auditorium)
  • 10:30-11:00 am — Sharing Stories (VSC Auditorium)
  • 11:00-11:45 pm — Mental Health Advocacy Day Awards
  • 11:45-12:15 pm — Overview of Legislative Bills
  • 12:15-1:00 pm — Policy Table Talks with Legislators (VSC Auditorium)
  • 1:00 pm — Resolution by House of Representatives (House Chamber)
  • Throughout the day — Testimony at Key Legislative Committees (State House)
  • Throughout the day — Card Room Exhibit Tables (near Cafeteria at State House)

Attendees have the opportunity to share their lived experience story, poem, or other insights at the event. Each participant will have 2-3 minutes. Click here for guidelines on pre-recording your video.

We invite you to select the award recipients for the 11th Mental Health Advocacy Day. Voting is open until January 21st at 5 p.m.

A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words

Artists of all backgrounds are warmly invited to contribute their creativity to Mental Health Advocacy Day on January 29th. We’re assembling a powerful “A Picture is Worth 1,000 Words” slideshow to be displayed from 8–9 a.m. in the Supreme Courthouse Auditorium before the program begins. If you’d like to be part of this visual celebration, please send a photo of your artwork—along with a title, if you have one—by January 22nd to [email protected] as a JPG, PRN, or PDF. You may choose to include permission to use your name as the artist or submit your piece anonymously. Your art can help spark connection, conversation, and hope.
