NAMI Vermont has been awarded a grant through the National Institute on Mental Health’s (NIMH) Outreach Partnership Program. As an Outreach Partner, we will be sharing information on the latest research and findings from NIMH and working together to provide more information, resources and tools on mental illness and treatment options for the communities of Vermont.

NIMH’s strategic plan provides a thoughtful trajectory for improving mental health care and understanding of mental illness. NIMH’s strategic plan has four primary research objectives:

  • Define the mechanisms of complex behavior.
  • Chart mental illness trajectories to determine when, where, and how to intervene.
  • Strive for prevention and cures.
  • Strengthen the public health impact of NIMH-supported research.

NAMI Vermont will continue its commitment to evidenced-based solutions by disseminating the research results guided by these objectives. Look for printed publications from NIMH (like those pictured), e-newsletters, website articles, social media posts and much more coming from the new program. Stay tuned to namivt.org for the latest updates and findings coming from NAMI Vermont’s new role as a NIMH Outreach Partner.
