The Brattleboro Retreat is sponsoring and hosting a training for new NAMI Connection Support Group Facilitators.

Nine volunteers from Brattleboro, Londonderry, Burlington and Springfield, Vermont will be attending this training where they will learn how to facilitate weekly NAMI Connection Peer Support Groups in their local communities. CLICK HERE to read more about NAMI Vermont’s Connection Programs.

Last year, NAMI Vermont paved the way with a new initiative to have NAMI Connection Support Groups available to patients on the Rutland Regional Medical Center Psychiatric Unit. CLICK HERE to read more about that program. NAMI Vermont and the Brattleboro Retreat hope to repeat the successes of that program by having peer support groups available both at the Retreat and in the community.

Thank you to this weekend’s teachers, Barbara Austin and Greg DeCell and thank you to Clare Munat for your help. We look forward to welcoming NAMI Vermont’s newest Connection Support Group graduates to a team committed to bringing peer support to their communities.
